Standard Operating Procedures: Prosecutors¶
Role: PROSECUTOR
Purpose: To manage the judicial phase of cases, ensuring legal sufficiency and successful prosecution.
Daily Checklist¶
- Court Dates: Check the calendar for today's hearings.
- Case Reviews: Check for cases marked "Ready for Prosecution" by investigators.
- Filings: Monitor deadlines for filing charges or motions.
Core Workflows¶
1. Case Sufficiency Review¶
When a case is forwarded for prosecution: 1. Review the Evidence tab for chain of custody integrity. 2. Review Witness Statements in the Parties tab. 3. Decision: * Accept: Proceed to filing charges. * Kickback: Return to investigator with specific notes on missing evidence.
2. Filing Charges¶
- Go to the Prosecution tab.
- Click File Charge.
- Select the specific Act and Section (e.g., Cybercrimes Act 2015).
- Copy the specific legal text into the description if needed.
3. Court Management¶
- Schedule: Log every hearing in the Court Sessions panel.
- Updates: After every session, update the session notes (e.g., Adjourned to [Date]).
- Outcome: When judgment is delivered, record the Case Outcome (Conviction, Acquittal, etc.).
Critical Compliance¶
Disclosure
- Ensure all exculpatory evidence is disclosed to the defense as per legal requirements.
- Verify the physical location of evidence before any trial date.
