Standard Operating Procedures: Supervisors

Role: SUPERVISOR
Purpose: To oversee investigative teams, ensure quality control, and manage resource allocation.

Daily Checklist

  1. Dashboard Review: Check "Critical Cases" and "Overdue Tasks".
  2. Workload Balance: Review the Team Activity Calendar to identify overloaded or underutilized investigators.
  3. Approval Queue: Check for pending case closure requests or sensitive warrants.

Core Workflows

1. Case Assignment

  1. Receive notification of new case from Intake.
  2. Review case complexity and priority.
  3. Go to Case Detail > Team.
  4. Add Member: Select the Lead Investigator based on expertise and availability.
  5. Instruction: Add a specific note or deadline for the initial report.

2. Case Review & Closure

Before a case can be closed: 1. Verify all Evidence has a final disposition (returned, destroyed, or archived). 2. Check Tasks completion status. 3. Review the Action Log for any gaps in activity. 4. Approval: Change status to Closed only if all criteria are met.

3. Team Management

  • Leave Requests: Monitor team availability in the calendar.
  • Performance: Use the Admin > Audit Logs (if accessible) or case stats to review investigator performance metrics (time to close, evidence accuracy).

Critical Responsibilities

Oversight

  • You are responsible for the integrity of your team's investigations.
  • Regularly spot-check Chain of Custody logs for gaps.
  • Ensure no case remains in Draft or Inactive status for more than 48 hours without action.
