Add Parties to Case¶
Accurately recording the people involved in a case is essential for investigation and legal proceedings. The Parties module tracks Suspects, Victims, Witnesses, and Complainants.
Adding a New Party¶
- Open the Case and select the Parties & Individuals tab.
- Click Add Party.
- Select Party Type:
- Suspect: Individual under investigation.
- Victim: Individual harmed by the alleged crime.
- Witness: Individual providing testimony or evidence.
- Complainant: The person/entity who reported the case.
Required Information¶
- Full Name: Legal name of the individual.
- Party Type: As selected above.
- Guardian Info: Required for Victims under 18. You must provide a guardian's name and contact.
Optional Details¶
- Alias/Username: Known nicknames or online handles (critical for cybercrime).
- Date of Birth: Used to calculate age and determine minor status automatically.
- Nationality: Citizenship status.
- Contact Info: Phone, Email, Address.
- Safeguarding Flags: (See below).
Safeguarding Flags (Victims)¶
When adding a Victim, you can tag specific safeguarding needs. These flags highlight the profile for attention: - Medical: Requires medical attention. - Shelter: Requires safe housing. - Counselling: Requires psychological support. - Legal Aid: Requires legal representation assistance.
Managing Parties¶
- Filter: Use the dropdown at the top to view only Suspects, Victims, etc.
- Edit: Click the actions menu (three dots) on a party row to update details.
- Delete: Remove a party entered in error.
